Engineering Students No JOBS Why?

The flashing news of today’s era made engineering, pursuing students face the biggest question:Will there be a full stop in their calling?  Whether the world demands so many engineers? And the questions go on till infinity. This is not the case with specific countries, but each and every land today is facing this biggest question“Why engineers are unemployed?”
Thinking about this will probably lead many of us to the point that market inflation decreases the job or may be recruiters are biased these days, but IS THIS THE ONLY REASON?
Considering the general scenario, most of the parents pressurize their children to be eithera doctor or an applied scientist. Since the field of medicine or pursuing MBBS is just not a cup of tea for the majority; even fewer seats are available so they turn towards engineering field.
In India, there is no end for engineering colleges; you can observe it in each and every street of the country, so it went easy for millions to proudly hold an applied science degree by somehow managing to clear exams.
But does that degree hold any value? Is it sufficient for recruitment? Mr. Manish Sabharwal, chairman of Team-Lease says “An engineering degree is a poor proxy for your education and employment skills.” And this is true as according to multiple estimates, information technology, service provider and manufacturing –leading industries are actually hiring fewer people than before. Placement numbers across Indian institutes — including the top colleges such as IIT’s NIIT’s etc. – have mirrored struggles. The Hiring ratio has gone down from 95% to only 60%.Millions of engineers are struggling to persist in this “survival of the fittest” market, with shrinking value of their accomplishments.
Interviews one after the other – simply not a single offer, not a single call letter, reason behind is rather obvious, interviewers today want quality not quantity, one who is capable to make practical use of the acquired knowledge. There are job opportunities for those who hold the potential, who are worth it, well-equipped, talented graduates with the right attitude. Hiring is slowing down not only because of recession in IT sector, but recruiters are also changing their strategies, they end up hiring fresh cream leaving heaps of  junk.
More than 50% of the engineers are poor at time management, lack interpersonal skills, a poor personal appearance, lack of confidence, lack of necessary hard and smart working skills or experience. They are not capable to sell what buyers desire to buy, then how can they expect job offer? On the other hand, in that respect are some companies who held up the joining dates of students passed out, who are still waiting to be posted. Close to mass recruitment companies made engineers to sit on the workbench with no employment experience.
All these pressurizing situations finally force the frustrated engineers to opt for overqualified underpaid jobs, or they rather chose freelancing based on their skills to earn their bread and butter.
Technologists need to exercise hard to increase the value of the acquired degree. They require to function on and then there is not a single rejection from any company. This is the high time or else the social aspect of this massive under-employment and unemployment will soon be seen.
